Cal Sungold is the preeminent vertically integrated grower, producer/packer and marketer of the Phoenix Dactilyfera-date palm trees-and the delicious fruit grown on the majestic trees.

The company operates in four divisions.

• Industrial--processes product for commercial bakers and food manufacturers
• Retail--packages product for the retail trade in whole fruit
• Mail Order-packages and ships small direct mail orders of retail, industrial or gift packages
• Ornamental Trees--supplies trees to architects and landscape designers. Cal Sungold is the founding partner, of the wholly owned Sungold Trees which provides date palm trees to the South Eastern US market

Cal Sungold has been in the date business since 1957, first farming the fruit, and then expanding into processing and packing for the retail, industrial and consumer markets.

Today the family-owned business is the largest independent producer of dates in the Coachella Valley, where 95 percent of the U.S. crop is grown.

The company annually markets more than four million pounds of dates. Although dates are historically a labor intensive crop, modern high-tech processing allows the company to handle the large volume.

The fruit is cleaned, hydrated, cooled, pitted, chopped or diced, all by industrial equipment capable of processing thousands of pounds of fruit at once.

Cal Sungold packages dates to customer order for the retail trade, and processes product for industrial customers according to their specified size and moisture content.
